The "Praia do Pepê" is located at the start of Barra da Tijuca Beach.

Several "urban tribes" meet here. Since there are high waves, it is a surfer´s classic and the beach is named after one of them.

Pepe was a very popular Hang Gliding champion who ran a sandwich kiosk in this beach.
