During Carnival, street bands play music in the streets. Everybody can join in, drink and dance along. It’s free!
Selection of the best Rio Carnival Street Bands
The largest band procession is in Av. Rio Branco, Centro (Downtown). You can enjoy a variety of street bands from Saturday to Tuesday. The best moments are when traditional groups such as Cordão do Bola Preta, Cacique de Ramos, Bafo da Onça play. The best time to go is at the end of the afternoon.
